Where things stand: Empire Isle is in development and has not launched. This policy describes how we handle information on this website today, and the approach we are building into the game. It will be updated — and re-dated — before the game launches, to describe the final product exactly.

Who we are

SCANAN Legacy LLC (“SCANAN,” “we,” “us”) is the developer and publisher of Empire Isle. Questions about this policy or your information: scananlegacy@outlook.com.

What we collect

On this website:

Waitlist email address — only if you choose to join the waitlist, once the signup is connected to our email provider. We use it solely to send launch and devlog email you asked for.
Emails you send us — if you contact support or press, we keep your message and address so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.
No tracking. This website runs no advertising trackers, no analytics cookies, and no third-party tracking scripts.

In the game (as designed for launch):

Account information — if you choose to secure your save, we store the email address or the Apple/Google sign-in identifier you use, plus a player ID. Guest play stores progress on the device and our servers without an email.
Gameplay data — your island progress, saves, settings, and in-game activity needed to run the game, sync your progress between devices, and prevent cheating and fraud.
Purchase records — if you buy in-game items, the app stores (Apple/Google) process your payment. We receive purchase confirmations and receipts from the store, not your card details.
Device and technical data — device model, operating system, language, and crash/diagnostic information used to keep the game running well.
Advertising data — the game is planned to show rewarded ads through an ad partner. That partner may collect device advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads, under its own privacy policy. We will name the partner here before launch and honor platform ad-tracking choices (such as Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt).

Why we use it

To run the waitlist and answer your emails; to operate, save, and sync the game; to process and verify purchases; to keep accounts secure and the game fair; to fix bugs and improve the island; and to meet our legal and app-store obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

Third parties

We use a small set of service providers only for the jobs above — for example: Apple and Google (app distribution, sign-in, and payments), an email provider (waitlist and support mail), server/hosting providers (saves and accounts), and — at launch — an advertising partner for rewarded ads. Each receives only what it needs to do its job. Their handling of your information is also covered by their own privacy policies.

Children

Empire Isle is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us at scananlegacy@outlook.com and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from waitlist or devlog email with one click in any message. Account holders can request a copy of their data, correction, or deletion of their account and associated data at any time — see our account deletion page for the exact steps. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law; contact us and we will honor them.

How long we keep it

Waitlist addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or the list is retired. Support emails are kept as long as needed to handle the conversation and our records. Game account and save data are kept while your account is active; when you delete your account, we delete or anonymize the associated personal data as described on the deletion page, except where we must retain limited records by law or for fraud prevention.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — encrypted connections, access controls, and established platform providers — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you plainly if that ever changes in a way that affects you.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the game launches and whenever our practices materially change, and we will change the effective date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the devlog.
